Our Lessons

At Little Lemons, we believe that learning and fun are like lemonade and a hot day – you can’t have one without the other! Our programs are thoughtfully crafted to embrace the natural progression of learning on ice for children dependent on their initial abilities and age. Each program is divided into 3 sections of development goals; balance, control, and agility, therefore our little movers will graduate with a well-rounded variety of skills. All of our programs are 4 weeks in length, each lesson is 30 minutes long, and take place at varying times throughout the year.

Skating is a fantastic activity for children of any age; patience, participation, and perseverance are a few of the many values that the sport can teach its young students. No matter what level your little one is starting at or to what level they take it to, your little skater will surely gain something from the experience, even if it’s just good memories. Read on to learn more about our program and how your child can become a Little Lemon!

Group Lessons.

No matter your little one’s ability, there is a level for them! If you have any questions or concerns about what level your little skater should be going into feel free to contact us at any time and we will be more than happy to help.

At Little Lemons we take the safety of our skaters very seriously. Ensuring that our skaters understand how to keep themselves and others safe is of utmost importance, and we begin teaching safe and positive skating habits from their first day on the ice. However, we also need your help as a parent to make sure that your little skaters understand and respect the rules, and are prepared and ready to help our classes run smoothly.

        Parent's Safety Checklist

Before each lesson skaters (with the help of parents) should:

        1. Be at the gate on time so that the instructor can lead each child one by one to the ice (keep in mind we only have 30-minute sessions).
        2. Check that skates are sharp and laced up properly.
        3. Be wearing gloves, long pants or tights, and a light sweater or jacket.
        4. Ensure that their helmet is certified.
        5. Parent must wear skates on ice.
        Little Lemon's Safety Checklist

Throughout every lesson, our coaches do their best to ensure your little skater’s safety. Our instructors are experienced at encouraging children of varying ages to practice safe skating habits and preventing collisions during lessons. Some of the precautions Little Lemons’ coaches take to protect our skaters are:

        1. Name tags are given out during the first session and are skaters are required to wear them to identify the child.
        2. On the ice, our instructors explain the importance of being cautious with blades and toe picks to avoid the danger of running over fingers.
        3. Constant reminders will be given during lessons to form safe habits in the skaters when practicing unsafe behaviour.
